On October 26, 2024, the team from Ratcliff Premium Meats brought the sizzle to Prairie View A&M University’s (PVAMU) homecoming! Kimberly Ratcliff and her team, along with Chris Manson from Champs Meat, hosted a tailgate activation packed with good food, fun giveaways, and an exciting partnership with Pit Boss Grills. The event celebrated PVAMU’s spirit and united students, alumni, and community members over delicious bavette steak tacos and chuck roast sliders.

The Flavor Experience

With thousands stopping by to try samples, guests were treated to a showcase of premium beef, cooked to perfection. The star of the tailgate was the mouth-watering bavette steak grilled for tacos and juicy chuck roast prepared for sliders on Hawaiian rolls. Kimberly and Chris Manson—whose business, Champs Meat, proudly stocks Ratcliff beef and uses it in their renowned sausages—served as the dynamic duo behind the grill, creating a memorable flavor experience for the PVAMU community.

Social Media Buzz and Community Connection

As we move forward, we are excited to continue supporting talented chefs and participating in events that celebrate the art of grilling. GrillHampton 2024 was a night to remember, and we look forward to many more occasions where our premium meats can shine on the plates of discerning diners. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success, and we can’t wait to see you again next year!

A Great Partner in Pit Boss Grills

Pit Boss Grill played a crucial role by providing two Navigator grills, which became the backbone of the day’s grilling action. They even upped the excitement with a giveaway of a tailgate grill, won by PVAMU alumna Brianna Robinson. Through social media posts and tags, attendees engaged with the brands, furthering the reach of the event and strengthening community connections. Champs Meat also brought their flavor to the celebration, with their famous sausages and loyal partnership with Ratcliff Premium Meats on full display. We also gave away a grilling swag bag complete with PVAMU swag, Pit Boss spices and a grill kit, sausage from Champs Meat and meat products from Ratcliff. Congrats to PVAMU student Daejah Chatman for winning our grilling swag bag!

Giving Back to PVAMU

The day’s festivities extended beyond food and fun; Ratcliff Premium Meats and Pit Boss Grill donated the two Navigator grills used that day to PVAMU’s meat science department. This donation will support a new “Grilling 101” class, giving students hands-on resources to explore the culinary side of their studies. For Ratcliff Premium Meats and Pit Boss, this gift represents a shared commitment to empowering future generations through education and meaningful resources.

A Commitment to Community and Education

Kimberly Ratcliff’s vision for Ratcliff Premium Meats goes beyond serving quality beef—it’s about strengthening the communities she cares about. A proud advocate for agricultural education and resources, Kimberly has long supported initiatives that equip young people with skills and knowledge in ranching and meat science. Her involvement with PVAMU and the creation of the “Grilling 101” class embody this mission, helping students connect with their food from pasture to plate. Through partnerships like this, Kimberly is not only showcasing premium, pasture-raised beef but also fostering a new generation of informed, passionate advocates for the land and local food systems.

From bringing premium Texas beef to life at PVAMU’s homecoming to fostering new relationships and supporting educational initiatives, Ratcliff Premium Meats continues to champion both community and quality.
